The release of the Tamagotchi Connection (also known as Tamagotchi Plus, Tamagotchi Connexion, Version 1 or V1) in 2004 marked the revival of Tamagotchi and the evolution of Tamagotchi into the 21st century. Being one of the few versions that released both in and outside of Japan, the V1 has a variety of different shell designs for each of the many regions it released in.
